Would you like your students to be able to think about their thinking? Metacognitive thinking empowers students to become more active in their own learning. How can we support our students to be metacognitive learners?
This workshop focuses on implementing practical strategies to teach metacognition in the primary classroom across different learning areas. The workshop will support teachers to ‘intentionally develop metacognition in learners’.
(Learners First: A Pedagogical Framework).
As a result of engaging in this course, participants will:
- know what metacognition is and how it can support learning
- understand how metacognition develops and can be integrated in learning
areas - be able to intentionally and explicitly teach metacognitive strategies.
