Program Description

In 2023 Tasmanian Government schools will implement Version 9.0 of the Australian Curriculum with a specific focus on reading.

This program will explore curriculum, pedagogy and assessment aligned to Quality teaching – Expectations for every teacher and the AITSL standards with a focus on reading instructional practices for the English classroom.

 

Program Outcomes

Participants will:

  • Understand the data and the humans (Know their students)
  • Know how to plan to teach adolescent readers (Know the standards and content)
  • Teach using reading instructional practices (Use effective evidence informed teaching practices)
  • Reflect on their practice through opportunities for coaching
  • Collaborate with their peers as part of a Community of Practice (Reflection and collaborative inquiry)

This program will occur online and face-to-face, participants are to attend all sessions
