Program Description

This three-hour workshop is designed for teachers, especially those in a mentoring role who are developing their skills of observing and talking about classroom practice with their colleagues that is aligned to the Standards.
Participants will have the opportunity to build their knowledge and skills of effective classroom observations, to strengthen teacher capacity and align their practice to the Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher career stages.
This program will prepare mentors who are looking at classroom practice of Professional Experience students (UTAS), Early Career Teachers, and Provisionally Registered teachers involved in the Progress to Full Registration process.

Program Outcomes

Participants in this program will develop a deeper understanding of;

  • the role of classroom observation using the Classroom Practice Continuum
  • how to reflect on teacher practice using the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • the importance of continuous professional growth for improved student outcomes.
