Program Description

This 1 hour online session is designed to build Year 3-6 teachers’ understanding of how to best utilise the Intercultural Understanding General Capability Version 9, to add depth, rigour and richness when planning learning opportunities. Participants will deepen their knowledge of how the Intercultural Understanding Elements and Sub-elements are incorporated within Learning Areas and the Achievement Standards. Teachers will be able to strengthen differentiation through intentional use of the Learning Continuum for learners in Years 3-6.

We will explore the functionality of the new Australian Curriculum Version 9 website and outline resources and support available for implementation.

Program Outcomes

Participants will have increased confidence in the use of the Intercultural Understanding, General Capability, in intentional ways to strengthen opportunities for all learners. By engaging in this session, participants will:

  • Understand the General Capability (Intercultural Understanding) Version 9 changes
  • Navigate the website and understand the connections
  • Reflect on implications for teaching and learning programs
