Program Description

This professional learning, designed for kindergarten teachers and teacher assistants will focus on intentionally planning the kindergarten outdoor learning environment.

Program Outcomes

Participants will deepen their understanding of:

  • current research around the value and importance of outdoor play on student engagement and outcomes
  • how to create rich outdoor learning spaces
  • ways to overcome barriers to outdoor learning
  • the value of intentional teaching in the outdoor environment
  • how to assist children to manage healthy risks and challenges outdoors
