An introduction to the ACARA Literacy and Numeracy Progressions

This half day program introduces teachers and school leaders to the newly published ACARA Literacy and Numeracy Progressions. The progressions have been developed to successfully differentiate teaching and learning to address student literacy and numeracy needs. This requires the teacher to have an understanding of where the student is now and where the student needs to go next in their literacy and numeracy development.
The National Literacy and Numeracy Learning Progressions describe common pathways or developmental sequences at increasing levels of sophistication or complexity for the acquisition of aspects of literacy and numeracy development

Participants will be introduced to the progressions and explore possible ways to use them at the whole school and classroom level to support teaching and learning in literacy and numeracy.
