This one-day workshop is designed to integrate with existing DoE Performance Development Planning(PDP) processes and is concerned with the why or how of managing performance, rather than the what and when.
Participants will be provided with and learn how to use tools to assess the development needs at a team level and distil these to individual development plans, targeted to the needs of particular colleagues.
During the program participants will critically examine cultural norms that both enable and inhibit effective performance leadership and will obtain concrete skills to have challenging conversations that may arise in managing for performance.
By the end of this program participants will:
- Understand the factors that underpin high performance in both individuals and teams
- Have access to tools to assess and address the performance needs at both a team and individual level.
- Have a plan to utilise this knowledge and skills in the context of the Department of Education’s Performance Development Planning framework
- Know how to have the difficult conversations that sometimes arise in managing for performance, in a constructive that gets results
