Teaching ESL Students in Mainstream Classrooms – Language in learning across the curriculum

9 Day Program – Over 2 months

back to Programs

This teacher development course brings a functional grammar perspective to the teaching of students who are learning through a language that is not their primary language. This nine-module course is aligned with the current literacy requirements of the Australian Curriculum. It considers all teachers as teachers of language in their subject areas, and has a perspective on oral and written text. The course supports teachers with the literacy demands of their subject areas thus enabling their students to access and create the texts required of them. This course is also suited to teachers of students with limited English language.
