Program Description

This program will focus on the teaching and learning of reactions and changes in Chemical Sciences through understanding content, using contexts from science as a human endeavour and using an inquiry model informed by scientific inquiry.

Program Outcomes

By engaging in this workshop, participants will:

  • know the changes to the Chemical Sciences sub-strand content in the revised Australian Science Curriculum V9
  • understand the changes to achievement standards for the Chemical Sciences sub-strand
  • gain clarity and direction to the essential content of the Chemical Sciences sub-strand that students should learn across the P – 6 years of schooling
  • plan quality units, including hands-on practical activities and experiments, through inquiry practices.
