Program Description

A dynamic, spaced professional learning course that delves into the ‘how’ of family engagement.

Through the use of lenses such as wellbeing, literacy, numeracy, involvement and schemas, participants will explore strategies to embed family engagement into all aspects of their practice.

This course is a companion piece to the Active Partnerships in Learning (Prep to Year 2) course and schools are encouraged to consider sending representatives to each course to build wider understanding of authentic family engagement strategies.

Program Outcomes

Participants will develop and deepen their understanding and skills in the areas of:

  1. Building strong partnerships with families
  2. Involvement and well-being as indicators of learning
  3. Play Schemas and Loose Parts
  4. Literacy and Numeracy indicators from every day play
  5. Documentation and two way communication with families
