This session is designed to support Teacher assistants and Education Support Specialists in completing Qualiteach Modules 1 and 2.  Participants will have the opportunity to work together and to be supported in building their understanding around the evidence-based approach to the teaching of reading.

Professional Learning to complete Modules 3 and 4 will be provided later this year.

 

Participants will:

  • develop consistent understandings of DECYPs Lifting Literacy approach whilst working collaboratively to complete Modules 1 and 2.
  • build content knowledge around the evidence-based approach to the teaching of reading.
  • develop confidence in using the approaches outlined when working with students

Teachers

  • Standard 1 – Know students and how they learn.
  • Standard 2 – Know content and how to teach it.
  • Standard 3 – Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning.
  • Standard 5 – Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning.
