Program Description:

Adults working with young students on the spectrum in primary school need a specific set of skills and knowledge.

Many students can feel isolated as the adults are unsure how to engage, play and communicate appropriately.

Adjustments in the classroom are often required to facilitate the inclusion of the student.

Program Outcomes:

This one-hour session will:

  • Look at the Early identification of Autism.
  • Discuss the reasons why young students become dysregulated and offer ideas to support.
  • Cover basic play and engagement strategies.
  • Look at strategies/ideas to promote communication.
