This full-day workshop is specifically designed to build the confidence, knowledge and skills in all teachers and staff across secondary schools in the delivery of respectful relationships and consent education (RRE).
Teachers, support staff, school and wellbeing leaders are all encouraged to attend as workshop content is aimed at unpacking RRE teaching and learning beyond just the Health and Physical Education (HPE) learning area. Schools are invited to send multiple staff to attend.
Content addressed will include:
– How to embed RRE within different school and curriculum programs
– Practical strategies for delivering and strengthening RRE beyond the HPE learning area, reinforcing curriculum connections and general capabilities within the Australian Curriculum
– Managing sensitive conversations in and outside the classroom
– Exploring the role of language and media literacy in challenging attitudes that condone disrespect, violence and abuse
– Understanding the evidence-base that informs RRE
Participants will:
- Develop practical strategies to support explicit RRE delivery across a variety of programs and curriculum areas
- Enhance their understanding of RRE content and best practice
- Build confidence and skills in delivering RRE
- Build confidence and skills in managing sensitive conversations in the classroom
