Program Description
The Explore Sea Country resources have been designed for primary teachers to deliver a culturally rich unit of work aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
This practical resource supports learners to understand that Tasmanian Aboriginal people have been sustainably using and managing their Sea Country for thousands of years and that Aboriginal communities maintain a special connection to, and responsibility for all Country.
Program Outcomes
Participants will:
- know how to use the Explore Sea Country resources.
- understand the importance of providing opportunities for students to develop an awareness of and respect for local Aboriginal history and culture
- use effective teaching strategies responsive to the local Aboriginal Community and cultural setting

45 minutes session being delivered online.
Online session – 3:15 pm to 4:00 pm
