Relief is covered by TFGA Kids to Farms (follow up with coordinator)
The TFGA Kids to Farms program is funded by the Australian Government to support improved food and fibre – agricultural education in schools. TFGA Kids to Farms is offering two opportunities for Tasmanian teachers to learn about food and fibre education through the Australian Curriculum, explore experiential learning opportunities available at key DoE facilities and connect with national and local support organisations including PIEFA, FEF, AWI and more.
The program will be offered at two locations, JRLF Senior School Farm (Brighton) & the Hagley Farm School Agricultural Learning Centre. Some content will be repeated at each session while experiential opportunities will be specific to each site.
Teachers will better understand the context of food and fibre production and identify connections throughout the Australian Curriculum. Teachers will develop awareness of the experiential opportunities available at two key DoE sites, the Hagley Farm School field study centre and the emerging field study centre programs at JRLF Senior School Farm. Teachers will hear from and connect with national and local organisations that provide learning program support.
