This program is self-paced and can be completed in multiple sittings, the time taken to complete the program is dependent on the individual. On average, this would be equivalent to 2 to 3 hours of professional learning.

There is no deadline to complete.

Program Description

An online, self-paced Canvas course providing information and support to administer GAPS. Resources including screening materials and educator and family resources are included.
GAPS is available and recommended as an early language screen, ideally administered in Pre-Kinder or Kindergarten (3 years, 5 months to 6 years 5 months).
Identifying learners who may be at risk in their early language development will provide for opportunities for intervention strategies and referral pathways for further assessment

Program Outcomes

Participants will deepen their understanding and skills to administer, score and utilise GAPS data.
Modules include: Introduction; Background Information; Getting Ready; Administering the Screen; Scoring and Assessing; When it Doesn’t go to Plan; Where to Next; and Reflection.
All participants receive a certificate on completion.
