Program Description

In 2023 Tasmanian Government schools will implement Version 9.0 of the Australian Curriculum.

This one-hour online session will allow teachers to become familiar with the structure and content of the revised F-6 HASS curriculum and the implications for teaching and learning in the year level/s they teach.

The session will introduce teachers to the structures underpinning the refined curriculum, the updated achievement standards, and their relationship to content in both the knowledge and understanding and skills strands. It will outline resources available to support implementation of the revised F-6 HASS curriculum.

Please note that this is the first of four online sessions on the revised F-6 HASS curriculum.

  • Session 3: HASS F-2 Version 9.0: Digging Deeper (Term 4: Thursday October 27)
  • Session 4: HASS 3-6 Version 9.0: Digging Deeper (Term 4: Thursday November 10)
Program Outcomes

By engaging in this session, participants will:

  • Understand the key changes to the revised F-6 HASS curriculum
  • Become familiar with the structure of the achievement standards, knowledge and understanding sub-strands, skills, and concepts
  • Become aware of F-6 HASS resources available, including those on the new Australian Curriculum website
