Program Description

Key themes of this training will be best practice strategies of support for teacher assistants.

  • Building a team – communication goals
  • Role definition – clear expectations
  • Creating common understandings of what best practice is – how do we do this?
  • Differentiation – what does this mean for teacher assistants?

This training will also cover some key themes to help support Teacher assistants.

  • Promoting independence – for a student
  • Fading back prompting
  • Velcro v helicopter approach
  • Responding to behaviour
Program Outcomes

Participants will be able to identify and implement key best practice strategies for working effectively with Teacher Assistants in the classroom.
