Program Description

This face-to- face professional learning day will be delivered by Dr Noella Mackenzie, an Independent Educational Consultant and Adjunct Associate Professor in Literacy at Charles Sturt University.

This day will include:-

  • Text creation processes involving teachers working collaboratively with colleagues to create, refine and produce a text that can be shared within their school community.
  • A practical session on handwriting highlighting what needs to be taught in the early years and how. This will include discussion about the rationale for handwriting instruction.
  • Ways to build vocabulary knowledge of students in the early years of school.
Program Outcomes

Teachers will leave the day with increased knowledge and confidence in their ability to teach writing to children in the early years of school.
