Program Description

Do you think that writing Government documents in plain language is a difficult exercise? Have you ever considered if your sentences are easy to read? Are you afraid of converting your beautiful prose into short sentences?

If yes, the Readability presentation is for you!

  • Readability definition
  • Readability scores:
    o using MS Word Readability Statistics to find the readability score for a Word document
    o using Hemingway Editor to identify difficult sentences
  • Examples
  • Workshop

We will use Hemingway Editor together to convert a piece of text to be more readable.

The presentation usually takes up to 1 hour, but I have booked the room for longer in case you have any questions.

Program Outcomes

DoE staff can write web and document content that can be easily read and understood by Tasmanian public regardless of their abilities, disabilities, level of education and time constraints.

Each presentation is being run in both the face to face and online modes.

Participants only need to attend 1 session – 9.30am – 11.00am
